Our programs are open to teenage athletes, typically between the ages of 13 and 18, who are interested in developing their sport and life skills through fun and competitive baseball training, mentorship, and community service.

Yes, there is a program fee to help cover coaching, equipment, and facilities. Each five week program will be $300.  If three programs are paid in advance, the last program will be half off.  Or $750 if you prepay in advance for three programs.

Yes – sponsorships and donations are welcome and qualify for charitable deductions.

Since we are a volunteer based organization, we do not have paid employees.  All proceeds from membership, sponsorship, and donations are used to pay for usage of local fields, coaches, and financial support back to the local participating nonprofits we partner with (Haven for Hope, Kinetic Kids, SJRC, and Hope Hospice).

Events will be coordinated at least monthly and take place during the weekend.  Athletes will have a mandatory 3 hours volunteer giveback with a partnering event coordinated by Turn 2 Inspire.  The giveback will need to be provided prior to signing up for any future programs.  We will partner with local nonprofits that focus on supporting our underserved youth population.  Fun games will be organized and led by our athletes to encourage an inclusive, fun, and learning environment for our underserved youth.

Yes, service hours will be provided for qualified time giving back to these coordinated events. This will qualify for National Honor Society hours or other community service hour commitments. Additional community service hours will be earned by writing a one page summary of your community involvement and presenting to a group of participating athletes and mentors of your experience.

Three hours.  First half is focused on training and the second half will be rotational intersquad games.

Focused on training/drills/repetitions.  Each training session will be progressive and focused on fundamental aspects of the game (throwing program, fielding, hitting, and running).

Competitive intersquad games.  Rotations will be based on the number of players.  Pitchers will be matched with similar experienced hitters.

Standard high school rules.  HOWEVER – pitchers are rewarded by throwing strikes.  Pitchers are considered on the same team as the hitting team.  Each pitch type will be called by the pitcher.  Catcher’s will set up middle of the plate.  Any pitch taken for a first strike will be considered two strikes.  Any offspeed pitch that is hit and the hitter reaches base safely will be allowed to advance one additional base at the end of the play, along with all other runners on base.  Walks will be take place after five non-strike pitches.  Each walk is considered an out but the batter can advance to first base.  Team that scores the least amount of runs will be responsible to clean the field after use.

A SMART goal includes each of these standards to establish a qualified stated goal:  Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.  We will have all athletes attend a virtual meeting the week leading up to the first week of the program to go over why and how to create a SMART goal.  The SMART goal will need to be submitted before the program starts.  Each athlete will also need to include five daily/weekly commitments to support the achievement of the goal.

You will have a choice of mentors depending on availability to schedule two 20 minute session to discuss an array of topics:  solidifying your SMART goal and commitments associated to best position you to achieve your goal, challenges you are facing on and off the field and discuss how to identify opportunities to work through it, discuss experience of your giveback time, etc.
